Apisphere empowers mobile software applications with location-awareness. The Apisphere Geo-Enabled Mobility (GEM) platform delivers location-specific mobile content, including applications and messaging…via location-based triggers…across network boundaries…to virtually any mobile handset.

Apisphere’s technology transforms the value of mobile applications and devices, dramatically enhancing the productivity and efficiency of every mobile worker.

Apisphere is taking an innovative approach to location-based mobile content delivery with a unique, patentable technology, and a highly scalable and licensable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model.

Challenges of Mobile Messaging
Location-based mobile communications solutions today lack an end-to-end “application anywhere” capability, and are unable to perform many of these important functions:

  • Operate across multiple, disparate wireless networks
  • Effortlessly coordinate application / message delivery and receipt according to user preferences
  • Access a large majority of handheld devices, regardless of vendor, carrier or operating system (“OS”)
  • Provide multiple methods for location targeting in a single library: WiFi, GPS, AGPS and cellular triangulation.
  • Provide appropriate opt-out and privacy management for the subscriber

Unfortunately, mobile operators function as location based services (“LBS”) “islands”. Currently, LBS enablement across disparate networks does not exist between carriers, independent software vendors (“ISV’s”) or corporations. As a result, mobile applications suffer limits on where they can be deployed, and on which mobile devices they can be deployed. This situation, along with privacy and security concerns, has inhibited the broader adoption of mobile business productivity applications, as well as other location-specific content such as advertising and messaging.

Apisphere capitalizes on and extends the convergence of the following technologies:

  • Location-based services: Geo-location, GPS/AGPS, mapping, turn-by-turn navigation systems, etc.Proximity content delivery:  Location-specific delivery of mobile application front-ends, as well as advertising, and messages.
  • Business mobility applications: From Software as a Service (“SaaS”) ISVs such as Salesforce.com AppExchange application vendors, particularly those with customer-facing customer relationship management (“CRM”) and business integration (“BI”) applications.
  • Disparate communications networks, protocols, and devices: RFID, 3G, Bluetooth, ultra-wideband, WiFi, WiMAX, wireless carrier networks, SymbianOS, BREW, Windows Mobile, Apple and others.
  • Privacy and security: The Apisphere technology enables all participants to balance and control the need for personal privacy with convenience and access to information
